When making a mandatory reservation, please complete all required fields (name, surname, email address, group leader's mobile number, and home address).
MEETING POINT
The meeting point is at one of the museums, depending on the type of excursion. For the Capoliveri tours, the meeting point is the "La vecchia officina" museum in Calamita, located on Via Calamita, 57031 Capoliveri (at the roundabout next to the "La polizia municipale" building, take the third exit following the signs for "Tenuta delle Ripalte"; the last two kilometers are on a dirt road). For the Rio mine tours, the meeting point is the "Archeologico" museum in Rio nell'Elba, located on Via Giuseppe Mazzini 2, 57039 Rio nell'Elba.
Links with the meeting points and times will be provided after booking.
Punctuality is essential: the group will depart from the meeting point at the communicated time.
CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER
- Free cancellation: By 9:00 p.m. on the day before the tour departure, the ticket price will be refunded or a voucher of equal value will be issued to be used by the end of the current season.
- Late cancellation 1: After the free cancellation deadline, a 50% refund will be issued.
- Late cancellation 2: Within 1 hour of the booked tour departure or for no-shows, no refund will be issued.
- Force majeure: For illness or other certifiable emergencies, the ticket price may be refunded at the discretion of the operator.
CANCELLATION BY THE OPERATOR
- Bad weather and/or safety conditions: In the event of adverse weather conditions and/or circumstances unsuitable for the safe conduct of the tour, the ticket price may be refunded or a voucher of equal value will be issued to be used by the end of the current season.
- Minimum number not reached: If the minimum number of 4 participants is not reached, the ticket price may be refunded or a voucher of equal value may be issued to be used by the end of the current season.
- Technical/organizational issues: The ticket price may be refunded or a voucher of equal value may be issued to be used by the end of the current season.
- Unforeseen events: In the event of extraordinary events, the ticket price may be refunded or a voucher of equal value may be issued to be used by the end of the current season.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
- FIRST LEVEL TUNNEL: No specific training is required, suitable for all ages.
Not recommended for those with mobility issues as the total route is approximately 1.5 km on gravel.
- SECOND LEVEL TUNNEL: Route with a height difference (descent) of 208 steps, prohibited for children under 12, pregnant women, those with mobility issues, and those with heart problems.
- MINING SCHOOL: No specific training is required, suitable for all ages, beginners, and those who do not practice any physical activity.
- DISABLED PEOPLE: For those with disabilities, please call to make a reservation.
EQUIPMENT
Appropriate footwear is required, such as sneakers or similar, comfortable for walking in unpaved and damp areas like an underground mine.
For entry to the underground mines of Capoliveri and Rio, a jacket or sweater is recommended, as the temperature inside requires it.
The guide reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone deemed unsuitable for the chosen activity.
Hikers who fail to participate, for example, if they show up with unsuitable footwear, will not be entitled to a refund, and therefore no voucher will be issued.
The equipment for the excursion is provided by the operator and must be returned intact at the end of the excursion. Otherwise, a fee for loss or damage to the equipment will be charged:
Helmet: €10
Flashlight: €5
Hammer: €10
AUDIO GUIDES
Audio guides, provided by the operator, must be downloaded before arriving at the meeting points.
MINORS
Minors under 18 must be accompanied by at least one adult.
PETS
They may participate depending on the activities.
They must be kept on a leash, and the owner is fully responsible for their four-legged friend's behavior at all times.
Small pets, kept in a pet carrier by their owner, are permitted for the first-level tunnel tour and the mining school. No animals of any kind are permitted on the second level.
RULES OF CONDUCT
General behavior: respect the guide and other participants, do not leave the group without permission, do not leave litter, and do not damage flora, fauna, or any other sites of interest, including the military vehicle.
Safety: follow the guide's instructions, promptly report any danger or illness, and do not stop in dangerous areas, especially to take photographs.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
The tour operator may take photos or record videos during the tour for promotional purposes. If you disagree, simply notify the guide at the time.
You must read the terms and conditions to participate in our tours, and by continuing with the booking, you agree to them.
